Château Grand Mayne 2005 half bottle

The cuvée consists of 67% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignion. The deep dark red wine from St. Emilion is a definite classic of its vintage. Both powerful and elegant, it has a multi-layered nose with ripe dark fruits, delicate wood and tobacco. It is characterized by fine, ripe tannins with a wonderful acid balance. Beautiful long finish.

The 2005 vintage, here in half a bottle, is fully ripe and in a beautiful phase of maturity. Wonderful for a midday lunch, or maybe you want to try several wines side by side. Half a bottle is a good choice here.

Rack of lamb with olive tapenade, rosemary jus and green beans or beef cheeks in red wine with carrots and onions. Also excellent calf's liver with apple onion sauce.
