Sancerre 2020

Sancerre - a picturesque town on the Upper Loire in the heart of France. Anyone who has been there falls in love with the wines of the region and also with the incredibly beautiful landscape. For more than two decades, we have been working there with our winegrowing family from Leatitia Ducroux, who have been friends for many years. 100% Sauvignon blanc, love & passion are the basis. The vineyard in Crezancy is only around 10 hectares in size. The vines grow on clay and limestone soils, which are interspersed with small pebbles. This ensures the wonderful fruity aromas during the expansion. The family has a great deal of experience with these soils, as Leatitia Ducroux represents the 11th generation of this winery, which has been in the family since 1643.

How about a pike and salmon terrine in a spinach coat with rocket salad and walnut oil marinade? Home-cured salmon with dill and mustard sauce or a casserole of seared monkfish with bouchot mussels, shallot and white wine sauce. Of course, oysters or mussels are always a good choice. As a vegetarian option, I recommend boiled potatoes with basil, olive oil, feta cheese and green olives.
